NC Architects launch their Web Portal which allows the posting of all information, Documents and Drawings, to a secure Web server which clients and consultants can access once issued with a password and Logon details. Such access allows the clients to view only the information related to their sites, it allows us to maintain a safe archive of data in case of fire or other catastrophe. It allows the download of information via PDF so that anyone can print off the information instantly without waiting for post or cumbersome sized e mails. Consequent savings accrue to our customers in both time and expense charges.

NC Architects managed the completion of an 80,000 sq ft Rail served Steel storage Warehouse in Swindon. This was commissioned in February 2006 to enable delivery of steel coil via a rail link directly into the building where it is unloaded by gantry cranes and held until called off by BMW Pressings Swindon Plant where it is used for the new Mini.
NC Architects were responsible for the design and project management of the development which was required to be complete by the end of 2006. The challenging timescales meant the building had to be designed in two weeks and submitted for full planning permission by mid February with approval being granted at the end of April 2006.
NC Architects tendered the enabling works comprising of demolition and site clearance works in May with a further tender for the office and civil engineering works which commenced on site by the end of July 2006 with completion being achieved by Christmas the same Year.
According to NC Architects Managing Director, Christopher Moore
“This project has been an excellent opportunity for us to demonstrate that the skills and experience necessary to procure such a large industrial building specific to end user requirements are available here in Swindon. The safe execution of a building of this size, in such a tight timeframe, on a complex brownfield site adjoining Network Rail’s infrastructure, would not have been possible without local knowledge. We are proud to have delivered the facility on time and within budget, meeting both our clients and BMW’s requirements.”

NC Architects extend their use of Revit software within the office offering enhanced 3D modelling, rendering and Photo montages within our standard services to Developers and not at additional cost. Schemes are now modelled from inception to completion in one single programme and changes to the design are managed much more easily than with conventional CAD software.
