The site of 5.07
Hectares in total comprises St Margarets Hospital Buildings and an area
of open land to the East.
NC Architects were appointed by Mclean Homes SW Ltd. to produce a scheme
for this site which would be acceptable to Swindon Borough Council initially
on tendering for the site and then on their success in purchasing the
site, in a Detailed Planning Application.
A small number of 2.5 –3 storey dwellings have been included at key focal
points in the scheme including the central flats in the Square and also
the Barrier Flats providing the noise barrier to the A419.
The scheme includes a large amount of open space to the North West which
flows into the center of the scheme following the existing hedgerow and
footpath / cycle way network. This has allowed for the retention of the
majority of existing trees.
