Client: Dick Lovett
We successfully handed over the completed building July 2016. This project was fantastic to be part of and we were able to create an iconic building for an iconic British brand.
The project did not come without its challenges and with sloping ground levels of 6m across its depth we had to think out of the box. We were able to adapt and design a split-level building with its used car showroom over the workshop omitting the need for expensive vehicle lifts or ramps.
The hillside location provides the perfect elevation for signage to identify the dealership across the whole Dick Lovett Bristol campus.
A wonderful balance of open space and dividing cupboards helps bring a feeling of enclosure to the open plan design. The use of recessed lighting bulkheads and floor finish changes further contributes to the successful divide of spaces within a comforting environment.
The use of high quality materials across the entire project sets a benchmark that you would expect from a brand of this calibre. Components fit to a 3mm grid
The workshop has a clinically efficient feel from the clean resin floor and regimented cabinets to the amount of natural daylight that enters the space. A perfect environment that has a custom ‘one off’ feel for the flawless workmanship that these specialists require for a high-end brand.
We were lucky enough to see one of the oldest Aston Martin’s in existence at the grand opening event.
